Reflections on snow

Seattle got dumped on a few weeks ago! It was awesome. The UW closed down for three days (I still had to work from home - boo) and it was mostly impossible to surmount Seattle's hills (although many tried!). I hadn't seen that much snow in years and years; it was lovely. However, I definitely wanted it to go away after day three of being stuck in my neighborhood! Kris and I walked around Magnuson Park for a while each day and took some pictures, and then I went out for a late-night photo adventure and snapped a few more photos of "Snowpocalypse 2012"... "Night light" photography in the snow!! All geared up for the storm and exploring Lake Washington After all that snow business, it was a pretty normal week of work, catching up with everything. Kris and I had another great weekend this past weekend. We met up with a couple of his friends for dinner near their house in Everett and then we visited an awesome new place on Capital Hill called "The...

So far in 2012, I've been having a wonderful time. It's so great to have Kris here in Seattle with me; we're always having adventures! Here are a few pictures: At Carkeek Park This random fisherman is perfectly squishable! Mt. Rainier reflected in Kris' goggles while skiing at Crystal Mountain. What a beautiful day!! Kris being a little devil in Leavenworth I'm a bit more of an angel :) Rock climbing at the Frenchman Coulee near Vantage, WA. That's Kris way up there! I made it all the way up, too! My very first outside climb :) Wenatchee Valley Kris' birthday was this past Monday (29 again! haha). I took Friday off of work and then I had Monday off for the MLK holiday, so we had a great weekend 'stay-cation' elsewhere in Washington. We spent Friday skiing/snowboarding at Crystal Mountain. Kris has a good friend who owns a cabin there. We enjoyed spending Thursday night catching up with his friend and his friend's gir...

Happy 2012!!

It was a wonderful Christmas and New Year for me. It's been a fantastic winter so far, too; surprisingly dry and clear. I would, however, very much like for it to snow in Seattle at some point this year... I spent the long weekend of Christmas with my family in Vancouver and then I spent the long weekend of New Year's Day with Kris and his family in Bellingham. I'm all over western Washington, sheesh! All should be calm for the next little while, though, and I did have excellent and relaxing celebrations with both families. Some of my goals for 2012 include: - Go on a photo adventure at least once a month - Be more patient with people - Write to a senator - Get into a new physical activity - Get to Europe!
