Late summer in Paris

Paris, ladies and gentlemen, is a city that doesn't need much of an explanation. Even after having visited the City of Light about a dozen times so far, there is always something new to see or do. During Kris and Karin's visit to Europe, the three of us enjoyed a four and a half-day extravaganza of Paris explorations. We did just about everything (seriously, everything!). I think the only main sights we didn't hit were the Opera, the Louvre (we went around the outside, but didn't go inside), and the Pantheon. Here's a photographic summary of our days in beautiful Paris:
Welcome to Paris! Enjoying a glass of wine at a corner cafe on our first night.
Montmartre
The "Wall of Je t'aime" - "I love you" written in 100+ languages.
The inside of Coquelicot, a cute cafe and bakery where Kris and I
had breakfast in 2009. We had to take Karin here!
Kris and his giant BOWL of coffee from Coquelicot :)
Sacre Coeur
How many times have I visited Sacre Coeur in the past and I only NOW found out that you can climb up to the top of the dome?!? YES. Add another tower/dome climb to my list of Awesome European Vantage Points!
Arc de Triomphe - by day
Eiffel Tower - by day
We skipped the ridiculous lines and saved money by climbing the stairs to the 2nd level
and then taking the elevator to the top from there. 660+ steps! Great job, Karin!!
I absolutely love the lighting in this photo. No filters or edits at all.
At the top!!
Saint-Sulpice Church
I had never been to this church before. It's gorgeous!!
Le Jardin du Luxembourg
Marais - L'As du Fallafel and Place Des Vosges
Everyone who has ever told me to go to L'As du Fallafel (over a dozen different people) has always said that they make the best falafel EVER. They were not kidding. One friend even told me that "it will haunt your dreams in the best way ever". She was right. The name of the place even means "The Falafel Champion", I mean, come on!
This is one of my dad's favorite spots in Paris, and one of mine, too!
Palais de Versailles
Sculpture posing in the gardens
Eiffel Tower - by night
Notre Dame
Sainte-Chapelle
The Louvre - just a quick peek at the courtyard
Cimetière du Père Lachaise
The perfect place to visit at the beginning of Autumn!
Jim Morrison's grave
Random awesomeness - street art and escargots (!!)
"In what world, Vuitton?"
SO DELICIOUS!
Arc de Triomphe - at sunset and by night
Catacombes de Paris
Also a good place to visit in the fall. Creepy!! It's really hard to believe that there are 6 MILLION BODIES down there!
Rodin Museum

Missing from this list is the Musée d'Orsay. Whew! I'd say we covered a lot of territory in four and a half days. :)  As always, Paris was a dream. The weather was perfect for our entire trip, too. It doesn't get much better than that, that's for sure.

Next up, Kris and my weekend adventure in Budapest, Hungary!
