Wintery Weekend Escape to Keystone, Colorado

This past weekend, myself and five other "Korbelians" rented a condo at Keystone Ski Resort and spend a couple of days in the mountains! While we unfortunately didn't ski (too expensive for our graduate school budgets), we did go snow tubing and ice skating, and we spent lots of time wandering around the central village during the day on Friday and Saturday. In the evenings, we amused ourselves by cooking dinner, playing "Apples to Apples", and generally enjoying a rare bit of leisure time.
Keystone is such a gorgeous place! It was quite a treat to be able to explore a new part of Colorado and enjoy the snow. Saturday was an absolute blue-bird day. Even though it was really cold, I had so much fun being outdoors and experiencing winter in this beautiful state.

Check out some photos:
The perfect day for skiing!
The view from the gondola platform at the top of the mountain
Snow tubing!
Heading back up the hill for another round of tubing with the girls
I loved the patterns in the ice on the lake where we ice skated.
A random children's parade went through the village and it included these beautiful clydesdales
Saturday night fireworks
An awesome old gold mine seen in Idaho Springs, CO on the drive up to Keystone.
Here's to more winter adventures to come! I must say, even with all of the snow and some very, very cold days (it's 1ºF, currently), I really love living in Denver. :)
